A Tumblrite shoplifts beer, gets drunk, then goes back to shoplift a DVD from Walmart and gets caught. Now she's asking everyone to donate to pay her fine, because... um, she wants your money.

Wow, there is entitled, and then there's entitled. I particularly love the way she refuses to take responsibility for her actions, in no way promises to clean up and act right, and seems resentful of her parents who are trying to help her. She's just outright panhandling to strangers on the intarwebs so she doesn't have to spend her own money (which she has, in the form of her tax return) so as to enable her stupid behavior. Oh boy, fuck all those people I was gonna donate to on Kiva. That single mother in Mongolia can stick her kid back in her vagina for all I care, this person obviously needs my money more.

So please, Tumblr, show me that not everyone is selfish.

Someone's not doing their part, is she? It's not even like she stole to put food in her mouth. When someone tells her to pay the fine herself, this is her reasoned and classy response:

When people continue to be meany poo-pooheads and question her motives, she pulls the race card. As far as I can tell, there's no mention of her race in previous posts and little reason to assume she's one race or the other. But if you're mean to her by asking her questions, that makes you a racist.

There has been racism (I’m a WoC, specifically half black/ndn and half white), and such examples by calling me things like “a menace to society” and “a piece of shit” and so on is not helpful in the slightest. One even accused me of threatening them with “cactus rape”. (I was just being snarky when I told them to fuck off) Come on, people wouldn’t say that if I had been purely white.

I think her math is off somewhere -- or do NDNs and black folks only count as half-a-person, so if you put two together you get one full person? I mean, I've got mixed ancestry too, but I'd just say I'm Mestee, not "half black/ndn and half white." Also, LOL CACTUS RAPE again.

No. I refuse. This is an elaborate prank (maybe not the money-grubbing post; maybe that did happen and she's selfish enough to demand money for it) but that "about me." No no no. Nope. Not a thing. I REFUSE to believe that that's legit.

I have a sinking feeling its all real.

I feel that the atmosphere of fandom as it is today (primarily, but not exclusively, on Tumblr) is deeply unhealthy and enabling of delusions, "other selves", etc. We're lucky that more con artists and cultists haven't caught on to what a treasure trove of victims fandom is, judging by the damage caused by the ones we know about (Amy Player/thanfiction, the Final Fantasy VII cult house). This person needs therapy and possibly medication; she doesn't need a thousand people on Tumblr encouraging her delusions and telling her how "special" and "misunderstood" she is.

honestly I don't give a shit if ppl id as otherkin (like unless they're appropriating trans* words like "dysphoria" when they aren't trans*, nawmean?). It's their business. Their life. W/E. No skin off my nose.

But to that extent is way more than someone saying "yeah I ID heavily with cats and sometimes feel that I am a cat." To that, I'd just be like "cool thing, cat, w/e"--although I have heard from a friend who is otherkin that they ID as such because they've been dehumanized their whole life so IDing as non-human is them making it their safe place, which I totally understand.

But this is definitely just a 12yo's dA OC come to life as an identity. And sometimes I feel like those identities overshadow people's...actual identities. Like because of something like that "I am my own Sailor Moon OC" is partly why people view actual genderqueer and non-binary people as jokes, like, automatically lumping us in with that.

The thing about being trans, to my mind, is that being male or being female is a Real Thing. So just like how genetic chromosomal sex doesn't always match up with physical sex, maybe sometimes gender doesn't match up with physical sex.

If you say you have the soul of a wolf, that's delusional, but it's not quite finger-to-my-mouth, making bibbling noises crazy. Wolves are real, and if souls were real too, perhaps you could have one's soul. But once you go adding video game characters, daemons, and hydrokinetic reindeer to your headspace, you are aboard the Crazy Train, full-steam ahead.

And yeah, the coopting of trans/queer identities and terminology makes me sideye a lot of these people. Is the hydrokinetic reindeer transabled too?
