That 'White Savior' wank

The "Korra is a white savior in brown skin" wank in Avatar: The Last Airbender fandom just proves to me that some Social Justice Warriors are so obsessed with white people that they manage to make a fandom set in a world populated entirely by POC all about white people. It'd be funny if it weren't so pathetic. And it wouldn't be so pathetic if Gisei Nashi Ni of dumbthingswhitepplsay wasn't throwing her cheap two cents in; GNN is, btw, the same person as smallblackangel who posted this breathtakingly racist rant about black people on her lj. Oh thank God GNN's here to teach us about racism, given she's such an expert!

The more amusing aspect to this wank is that the circular logic and SJW word salad ("This word means what I need it to mean! DIAF!") could be used to prove that up is down and that black is white. I could take any random bit of media and use enough buzzwords and bad tactics until I got you to believe ANYTHING.

Just to prove a point, here's my interpretation of Tupac's "Keep Ya Head Up", in the style of GNN.

In this song, Tupac displays his male privilege by speaking in positive terms about young women and single mothers, encouraging them repeatedly to "keep ya head up" and demand respect from society at large and men in particular. His justification for talking about motherhood is that he has a mother, not exactly an accomplishment on a planet inhabited by six billion people, all of whom either have or had mothers.

Tupac also stole the name of Tupac Amaru, a noted Incan monarch. By stealing the name of Tupac Amaru, this so-called "Tupac" is appropriating the experience of Hispanics and monarchs.

By talking down to them in such a way, Tupac is symbolically rendering them the underclass. As young African-American women and Hispanic monarchs are coded as "the lesser", Tupac becomes the omnipresent all-knowing authority figure.

Therefore, Tupac is the White Man.

Anyone who disagrees with my thesis can step on a Lego.

Yes. SJWs are all for POC, as long as they're the kind of POC that SJWs approve of. The same goes for any other kind of minority, disadvantaged, or victimized group.

The absolute worst thing, in the world of SJWs, is to "act white". What's defined by "acting white" is entirely up to the SJW's whims at any given moment. Despite this, SJWs tend to be obsessed with white people, in particular slashy white men. Some are virulent misogynists. Like I said, it'd be funny if it wasn't so sad.

I manage to avoid, like, 90% of THOSE SJWs and follow just my friends who will stand up for themselves and call out bullshit others perpetuate when it's, you know, actual bullshit (erasing identities, being a general douchebag about shit, etc.). That shit right there is a special kind of fucked up

Dumbthingswhiteppl say perpetuates EVERY kind of bullshit. Considering GNN/smallblackangel's track record, I find it hysterically funny that she's trying to "educate" anyone at all. Like, I can do bad all by myself, I don't need your help to be a complete failure, thanks GNN/smallblackangel.

The SJW movement really sucked a lot of life out of fandom. The new scans-daily became the place where fun goes to die. The thing is that a lot of SJWs aren't even over-eager kids who just finished Sociology 101, they're bullies who latched onto a brand new way to attack people.

I personally knew something was up when that woman got roasted alive for naming a kitten Vindaloo in her fanfic.

And that would be why I hate the two arguments of "the PoC is always right" as well as "any tone a person uses is okay." Because god, as you say, its become the new way to bully for some people and the lack of self.critique I think hurts the SJ movement.

Its been this way for a couple of years at least, and it really stifles constructive discussion and thought. And really, its taken to such an extreme that on the fringe end you can barely tell it apart from what its supposedly fighting -- reactionary hate movements. Kinda like how fascism and communism, despite being opposed to one another, start resembling each other, the SJW movement has become as anti-intellectual, segregationalist, and reactionary as the thing it hates.
