Today I watched a hilarious Turkish movie called GORA. It's about a young carpet seller named Arif (played by the very sexy Cem Yılmaz), who gets abducted by aliens and imprisoned on an intergalactic prison ship, where the inmates carry lightsabre shivs. His captor is an evil alien warlord, the harp-playing, trigger-happy, fruit-licking Logar (also Cem Yılmaz), who gives chickens as gifts to alien dignitaries. Logar also has a fabulous gay sidekick, surely the essential accessory for any alien warlord this season. Oh, and did I mention Logar ends up in a threesome with his sidekick and an S&M dwarf?
Anyway, Arif must escape Logart's clutches and win the heart of a beautiful belly-dancing space princess. He's helped out by his friends, the effeminate robot and a Rasta Turk who claims to be Bob Marley. Lots of parodies of The Matrix, Fifth Element, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Just a really good time, and hey, it's got hot 18th-century-Turkish-peasant-on-robot action, so you know it's quality!

I like Cem Yilmaz.
