After seeing mention of it on my Bollywood-lovin' friends' ljs, I've been watching Dostana and I love it. It is indeed SLASHTASTIC. Some of the gay jokes are a little crude, but it's intended to be over-the-top and it's got so much heart it's hard not to love it. I love the cinematography on the kiss scene, and the ending is just great: a liiiiiiiittle bit of ambiguity as to how fake Sam and Kunal's act was. Of course, by pairing off Neha and Abhi it's pretty much a given that Sam and Kunal will end up together....
I demand cracktacular Dostana/Dhoom crossover fic, where somehow Kabir (John Abraham) doesn't die at the end, and he and Jai (Abhishek Bachchan) cross paths with Sam (Abhishek Bachchan) and Kunal (John Abraham) and all sorts of wacky highjinks ensue. THIS MUST EXIST. So get on it, people.
Also, I may have watched that scene where Kunal strips in the cab while Sam nervously steals glances at him more than once. Or twice. Oddly, while John has a gorgeous body, he really doesn't do it for me unless he's smiling. Then he really lights up. Abhishek, on the other hand, is officially my new Imaginary Boyfriend, SO HANDS OFF BITCHES. I cracked up when Kunal makes a speech about how much Neha and Sam mean to him, and Neha goes to hug him and Sam shoves her out of the way in his eagerness to hug Kunal first. And Sam getting all sultry to charm Neha's gay boss -- HOMG. Abhishek is something else, y'all.
