Daken hijinx! (also, bitchy nitpicking)

To those who are currently writing that great Daken fic over on the Marvel Kink Meme, I would just like to remind y'all that Daken was born in 1946. I flinch every time I see him described as "the younger man" in fic when he's usually older than anyone he's paired with by several decades. I'd understand if the fic was written from the POV of a character who doesn't know and has no reason to suspect that Daken is well past sixty, but most of the time the fic is written in third person omniscient. I imagine that this mistake happens a lot because of Daken's eurotrash, kid-with-a-bad-attitude persona, but c'mon y'all, he's old enough to be Bullseye's grandfather. Hell, he might be Bullseye's grandfather.

TL;DR: Daken is older than all of these people:

Bullseye
Anole
Northstar
Emma Frost

... so don't call him 'the younger man' in comparison to them, thanks.



Proving yet again that he has balls of adamantium, Daken flirts with Ares.



It looks for a moment like Mac is going to try the old stretch-and-reach movie theater move, but he chickens out.

It really was. I like to think that Daken's presence in the MU is just to make every male character uncomfortable with their sexuality.

I daresay Mac is watching Oprah.

(Personally I think if Daken ends up sleeping with any of the dudes on the team, he'll be the first. Lester a close second, but Mac is easily confused and easily persuadable and just easy in general.)

Ares was one of the more heterosexualish gods. I'm sure there's some myths out there where Ares finds a nice boy to play with that have been lost (or one that I've forgotten *shame*).

But he's freaked out with someone bisexual on the team who seems to top with men? Sexual norms FAIL in ancient Greece, writer. Ares should be freaked out over a bisexual/gay male who bottoms.

Well, Ares doesn't freak out about the bisexuality -- he freaks because Daken is manipulating him with his pheromones and also taunting him about being Osborne's lackey.

Also, my hunch is that Daken does bottom (at least when it suits him).
