ISTJs and INTPs can look similar -- we're both collectors of knowledge, for example. But the two types are veeeeeery different.

You're a Judging type while I'm a Perceiving type. Judging types are all about right and wrong, black and white. They also have a tendency to NEED to be right. Perceiving types are more ambiguous and will go to any lengths to avoid making a judgment call -- I'm notorious for saying things like "we don't know the situation" or "there could be factors involved", etc, whereas a Judging type is more likely to declare "that's WRONG!"

Here's a simple question: is your desk/personal space neatly organized? INTPs are notorious for our 'organized clutter'. We keep everything in these piles where WE know where something is, but anyone else is completely lost. If you were to walk into my room, you'd see bunches of clothes piled together, books tucked under my pillow, a giant pile of unsorted socks in a laundry basket. That would drive an ISTJ batty. They like things to be in their place, and they usually keep their personal space clean and neat.
