So I get online tonight and try to update one of my fills on [livejournal.com profile] norsekink only to find, to my surprise, that my username has been banned. Um, okay, I received no warnings nor can I think of anything I did that would warrant a banning, but the comm is switching maintainers right now and maybe someone pushed a wrong button somewhere, IDK. So I messaged one of the mods about it.

Just now, on a hunch, I went and looked at the link to one of my old fills on NK. IT'S GONE. Someone went and deleted every last chapter of The Thousandth Man! If I hadn't copied it to this lj, it'd have disappeared into the gaping maw of the internet. Who would do this? And why? So bizarre!

Wow, that is so weird, and unfortunate! I had been saving your Thousandth Man, and I'm so glad I did. I really hope you get a reply, because if you don't, I'd be afraid that would almost mean somebody's got some weird grudge against you. *unhappy face* I'd been following your lovely Sleeping!Odin fill, so... If you can't fill on the norsekink, would you consider putting it on here? Or maybe on AO3?

Oh sweetie, thanks! Just for you, I'm gonna copy down what I've got of A Myth of Devotion and post it before it gets ganked.

Once again, I have NO IDEA why anyone would delete my fics. No one has EVER told me, in public or private, that they had a problem with me or TTM.

That explains why I've been finding many deleted fics on the kinkmeme...I only found it this morning after watching the movie about 2 weeks ago (and thusly discovering your fid 'the thousandth man'). I was saddened to find that it had been deleted, but happy when someone mentioned on the fill on the second prompt post that you had posted it to your LJ. Elated even.

I'm a bit saddened though to find the mods doing this, and I hope they post as to why? Maybe a change in rules? I am unsure though. So many possibly good fics that will never see the light of day again...

One of the new mods comes with a hate-on for you, I'd guess. Very poor behavior on their part.

Your "Is there poison..." fill is gone too, at least. Still in google cache, though.

Hi. One of your mods here. I'm really sorry about what happened. Trust me, we're aware of the problem and it's our main job right now getting this sorted out. As far as we can tell one of the mods wanted to clean up free flowing comments and accidentally deleted it as spam, which seems to have led to this mess.

First off: can you confirm the accidental ban has been lifted?

The problem is that we can't undelete. Since you do have the stories saved on your journal, the easiest solution would be to add a new clearly titled comment to the original post, with a link that leads here.

If there is anything we can do to make this up to you, please let us know. Trust me the mods, don't hate you and I in fact am quite the fan.

Just a quick update. We've managed to retrieve the deleted chapters of the Thousandth man. If you like we can repost them back where they belong, or if you want, you can do it yourself.

Just let us know your preferences.

- Your friendly neighbourhood mod, Korilian

"Is there poison" has also been retrieved. It looks like only Round 1 was affected, so if you had any other stories on there, please let us know.

Hmm... As a regular commenter on some of the fics (where I know I've noticed you, Korilian!) what do you mean by "free-flowing comments"? Are you talking about some of the comments that I've noticed that were not posted within the proper thread, and just left 'homeless'?

Or do you mean comment threads the mod(s) thought were simply too long?

If you mean the second one, I'm going to put out my two-cents here and say that rather smacks of censorship. :( Especially since one of the wonderful things about the kinkmeme is the conversations some of the fills produce, and those are often fuel for the authors. If a thread is long because it's getting off-topic, a polite mod-notice would be more than enough to steer the conversation back on track, rather than deleting a thread just because the mods are annoyed.

At least if I find any fics deleted, there's a chance you all can retrieve them, right? Been checking, so far so good, but there's a LOT of bookmarks I need to go through.

Thank god the spam is getting taken care of, though! Good on you!

Pretty sure Korilian meant the former. About OT conversations, we're planning to gently nudge them to the general discussion post.

So far, google cache has been good to us, but anything you've saved or anything we need to trawl google cache for, please let us know. Thank you!

I noticed that The Thousandth Man was gone, but I figured you had deleted it in order to move it all in one location or something. Weird. I'm glad the mods are looking into it.

Sorry, yes. That's what I meant.

I was able to recover Transemacabre's fills and have them waiting on my computer until she gives us her two cents on the matter. So far it looks like no one else was affected.

Will do. I have classes today, but expect them to be up sometime this evening (or morning depending on your time zone).

I've re-posted both 'Poison' and 'Thousandth man'. In the case of 'Thousandth man' especially, I tried to make sure the chapters corresponded with its comments as much as possible.

You might notice that the numbers stop matching up at some point. This is caused by the fact that you had two chapter's thirteen.

Once again, I'm really sorry. We're here to make your life easier and we made it difficult instead ):
