[livejournal.com profile] redcandle17, remember when we were discussing the very important subject of Sebastian Stan's eye color? I think I found the perfect pic. The dark makeup helps his eyes stand out from his face.

In other news, I am legit considering buying The Architect on Amazon Prime just to see SebStan's sex scene with Paul James. I can't believe that no one's put that up on Youtube or even gifed it or anything. You disappoint me, fandom.

I had muchly fun at the NYC Carol Corps/Kamala Korps meetup last night! We visited Midtown Comics and now I have a tiny bobbleheaded Galactus. I regret nothing.

During a discussion about Marvel's future properties with my fellow CC/KK members, I brought up my casting hopes for Iron Fist/Danny Rand. Like so many, I'm hoping for an Asian or Asian-American actor to play Danny Rand.

I'd also really like to see a mixed-race Danny Rand. )

Screencap of Steve's 4F letter from the first movie:

His birthdate is given as July 4, 1918. The date of the letter is June 14, 1943. So he enlisted shortly thereafter, became Cap, rescued Bucky about three months or so later, and then Bucky plummets to his doom and Steve goes on ice two days later.

In the after-credits scene in CA:TWS, Bucky's birthdate on his museum memorial is 1917. So he's at least 6 months older than Steve in MCU continuity.

I was checking out my diary.ru blog, and scouting around to find out what Russian-speaking fandom's views are on Captain America: The Winter Soldier The First Avenger: Another War. This is from a small sampling, so don't take this as representative of ALL of Russofandom, but I thought it was worth sharing. Apparently, their nickname for Sebastian Stan is "Sebu", which is adorable and I vote that we adopt it forthwith.

*Lots of squee about Steve/Bucky.
*Denial about any Steve/Sam or Steve/Natasha subtext.
*Lots of FEELS about poor brainwashed Bucky. "He has eyes like puppy dog" is one memorable quote.
*They like drawing Bucky as a kitten. Just lots of Bucky-as-cute-animal analogies.
*Someone also made a joke about how the British villains in Hollywood better watch out, because this "Romanian migrant worker" is coming for their jobs.
*LOLs about 29-year-old Natasha being in the KGB.

Da! It sounds like Marvel's finally on board with a Black Widow solo movie. ScarJo has said several times that she would love to do a Black Widow movie and explore Natasha's past and psyche. To my mind, the most natural thing would be to introduce Yelena Belova, and have her and Natasha clash over the Black Widow title. I also like the idea somehow had that the flick should be a sort of reverse Die Hard with Natasha rescuing Clint :)

As for directors, I'd love Marvel to tap Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty, Strange Days).

Can we hope for a 2016 release for Black Widow? Could it even beat Wonder Woman into theaters?

Little details I noticed while freeze-framing the GOTG trailer...

Cut for minor spoilers )

In other news, last night at the comic book shop where I work, a male customer came in wanting Spawn action figures. He rudely walked past me and my female co-worker as we tried to tell him to speak to our (male) co-worker who was all the way on the other side of the store. Yeah, fuck you too, buddy. Stick that Violator toy up your ass.

So... surprise announcement that Michael Douglas will be playing Hank Pym in the Ant-Man movie, with Paul Rudd as Scott Lang. Whut?

I got the boyfriend to watch a CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan match with me night before last. He asked me, "Is this a match where the loser gets made love to by the winner?" Y'all, I swear, I have not told him a thing about wrasslin slash. This is all on him.

Also, he drew this femslashy picture of Aurora from Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella for me on the train last night. We agreed they would make a cute couple.

UPDATE: I talked to the boyfriend on the phone tonight, and he's been painting wrestlers onto all his ceramic cups and bowls. Also, we talked about the femslashy princess picture, and he suggested we do a whole gay Disney series for Valentine's Day, "with Belle and Ariel, and maybe the Beast and Gaston." Is he a sekrit Disney slasher? Am I dating a unicorn?

Yes, I am squeeful over the new Avengers trailer and so hyped to see the Avengers panel at ComicCon in a few days! Also, I love snarky Tony Stark. Haters to the left!

And yes, I wish we could've had Ed Norton as Bruce, because I was a little in love with him in The Incredible Hulk, but I resolve to give Mark Ruffalo a fair chance and implore everyone else to do so, as well. I do wish we got to see more of Hawkeye and Black Widow, but I understand that they're trying to promote the movie based on the most recognizable characters (ie, what will get movie-goers in the seats).

And now onto some photos of my new OTP, Natasha Romanova/Jane Foster (as played by ScarJo and Natalie Portman, of course):

I ship it so hard, srsly )

So the news just broke that Tom Hiddleston is TOTES MARRIED YOU GUYZ.

I was so confused for a moment, because the post that announced it had photos of him with Rachel Weisz, and I was like -- 'Didn't she just get married to Daniel Craig, aka James Bond? Is she married to Tom Hiddleston, too?' and for a moment, in my brain, Rachel Weisz was the Pimp of All Pimps.

I'm still a little confused, because last year, he was seen holding hands and canoodling with Kat Dennings at San Diego Comic Con. So... did he meet and marry his wife in the intervening months? Otherwise, weird.

So I saw Captain America today and I am all a-squee!

Short, no-spoilers version: They did Steve justice. The movie is at least as good as Thor and Iron Man.

Plus, they crammed a LOT into this movie. It was a very ambitious effort, and they succeed on almost every point.

Saw the midnight showing last night here in NYC, and LOVED IT. I genuinely think it's better than the first. And Mickey Rourke as Ivan Vanko/Whiplash scared the SHIT out of me. I think it's because he's so burly and ugly and with the tattoos he looks like a guy you would NOT want to run across in a dark alley, under any circumstances.

How awesome was The Incredible Hulk movie? Pretty damn awesome. I was freaking out when I saw it yesterday, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about Bruce, Betty, and all the other characters. So I created a fannish lj comm -- [livejournal.com profile] gamma_freaks. So if you want to express your Hulk love via fanfic, fanart, or interpretive dance, join up and post.
